A man from Danville faces a life sentence and $2 million bail for the death of another person who died from taking an overdose. Mark McWilliams, aged 20, has been charged on a number of counts including conspiracy to distribute various drugs to individuals aged under eighteen. The drugs he conspired to distribute included heroin and the powerful prescription painkiller Oxycontin, a derivative of opium.
The man was arrested after a large scale operation involving many authorities including the Drug Enforcement Agency, the Montour County District Attorney's Office, the Northumberland-Montour Drug Task Force, the Montour County Sheriff's Office, the Danville Police Department, the Mahoning Township Police Department, Riverside Police Department and Sunbury Police Department.
The Assistant US Attorney Jack McCann stated: "He faces 40 years on a conspiracy count." He also faces other charges including firearms counts. McWilliams is currently being held at a Morris County Penitentiary.
